Bhubaneswar, October 7, 2024 (TBB Bureau): The Bansidhar & Ila Panda Foundation (BIPF) has announced the opening of applications for the 20th edition of the Professor Ghanashyam Dash Scholarship (PGDS) for Higher Education. This scholarship aims to support meritorious students from Odisha in pursuing higher professional education.

Each year, six deserving students receive financial assistance to study fields including engineering, medicine, STEM, and liberal arts at premier institutions across India. The scholarship covers up to 90 per cent of academic fees and eligible expenses, with a maximum award amount of Rs 6 lakh per student, facilitating the completion of four-year professional programs.

In addition to financial support, recipients will have access to BIPF’s mentorship program, ‘UTSAAH’, which provides academic and career guidance from executives at Indian Metals and Ferro Alloys Limited (IMFA).

Applications for the 2024-25 academic year are now being accepted, with a submission deadline of November 15, 2024. Students from Odisha with an annual household income of less than Rs 8 lakh are encouraged to apply online at www.bipf.org.in.

Shaifalika Panda, Trustee & Founder CEO of BIPF, emphasized the foundation’s commitment to education as a means of empowerment. “Through the Professor Ghanashyam Dash Scholarship, we aim to provide talented students from Odisha the opportunity to pursue higher education, fostering positive impacts in their communities,” she said.

Established in 2005 to honor the legacy of the late Prof. Ghanashyam Dash, a distinguished historian and father of Ila Panda, the PGDS has supported numerous students in achieving their academic goals, contributing significantly to Odisha’s development.
