Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL), a leading power equipment manufacturer, has successfully secured a significant engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract worth over Rs 9,500 crore from NTPC Ltd.
The contract pertains to the Singrauli Super Thermal Power Project Stage-III (2×800 MW), located in Uttar Pradesh. This achievement underscores BHEL’s prowess in the competitive global market.
Under the terms of the contract, BHEL will provide a comprehensive range of equipment, including boilers, turbines, generators, and associated auxiliaries, along with electrical, control, instrumentation, balance of plant packages, and other essential components. The scope of work also encompasses erection, commissioning, and civil construction activities.
BHEL aims to complete the first 800 MW unit within 50 months, with the second unit slated for completion in 54 months. This timeline highlights BHEL’s commitment to delivering high-quality projects efficiently and on schedule.
This significant contract not only strengthens BHEL’s position as a key player in the power sector but also reinforces its long-standing partnership with NTPC, country’s leading power generation company.
