Tedhe Medhe is set to make this Durga Puja even more electrifying with the launch of its special tribute song, ‘Rockanjali.’ Celebrating 50 glorious years of Bengali rock music, Rockanjali brings together legendary musicians from iconic bands — Siddhartha Sankar Roy (Siddhu) and Avijit Burman (Pota) from Cactus, Gaurab Chatterjee (Gabu) from Lakkhichhara, and Anindya Chatterjee from Chandrabindoo — to pay homage to the genre that has shaped the cultural fabric of Bengal.
This soulful yet energetic tribute from Bingo! Tedhe Medhe not only honours the rich heritage of Bengali rock but also highlights the enduring themes of friendship and unity, resonating deeply with the spirit of Durga Puja. Rockanjali encapsulates the essence of Bengali rock music, bridging generations and inspiring new listeners to embrace the genre’s powerful legacy.
To engage with young audiences, Bingo! Tedhe Medhe launched the ‘Rockanjali’ contest, a platform for budding musicians to showcase their talent during the Durga Puja festival. With over 120 entries from college students across Kolkata, the competition has culminated in a final showdown where the top 15 bands will perform at some of the city’s most iconic Puja pandals. This contest is not just a celebration of music, but an opportunity for emerging talent to take center stage and shine.
In an exciting first, Kolkata will witness a ‘Concert on Wheels’ as part of the ‘Rockanjali Pujo Tour.’ Over six days, from Chaturthi to Navami, this mobile concert will spread the spirit of Bengali rock across the city, stopping at six renowned Durga Puja pandals and giving fans an unforgettable musical experience.
Speaking about the campaign, Suresh Chand, VP & Head of Marketing, Snacks, Noodles, and Pasta at ITC Foods, said, “With Rockanjali, Bingo! Tedhe Medhe wanted to create something truly special for Durga Puja. Our song honors the legacy of Bengali rock while giving young talent a platform to shine.
