BonV Aero wins at Drone Hackathon during Amaravati Drone Summit

Bhubaneswar, October 24, 2024 (TBB Bureau): BonV Aero, an Odisha-based leader in aerial mobility manufacturing, emerged victorious at one of India’s largest Drone Hackathons, held in conjunction with the Amaravati Drone Summit on Tuesday. The event attracted over 500 participants, all vying to present innovative solutions to pressing challenges in drone technology.

Organized by the Andhra Pradesh Drones Corporation, the hackathon aimed to spur the development of drone-based applications across diverse sectors. BonV Aero distinguished itself by concentrating on drone delivery solutions tailored for remote and hilly regions, where conventional transport methods are often inadequate. The company recently made headlines by setting a world record at Umling La Pass, executing a high-altitude hover flight at an impressive 19,024 feet while carrying a payload of 30 kg. As a key supplier of heavy-lift UAVs to the Indian Army, BonV Aero continues to push the limits of drone technology.

The Amaravati Drone Summit featured keynote addresses from Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu. Both leaders emphasized Andhra Pradesh’s ambition to emerge as a leader in drone innovation and encouraged manufacturers to use the state as a testing ground for new use cases and proofs of concept.

Highlighting the summit’s significance, a spectacular drone show featuring 5,500 drones illustrated the technological advancements on display, fostering collaboration and innovation within the drone industry.
