Coal India Ltd. is poised to achieve a production output of approximately 773.7 million tonnes (MT) for the fiscal year 2023-24 (FY24), representing nearly a 10 per cent increase compared to the previous year, company sources said.
Despite this growth, it is anticipated that Coal India may fall slightly short of its target of 780 million tonnes. The off-take of coal is projected to reach around 753 million tonnes, accounting for nearly 90 per cent of the targeted figure of 780 million tonnes.
This performance underscores Coal India’s continued efforts to enhance production and meet the nation’s growing demand for coal. While the company may not reach its ambitious target, the projected increase in production signifies positive momentum in the coal sector.
