BHUBANESWAR, AUGUST 8, 2024 (TBB BUREAU): CSM Tech, a leading Indian IT firm with a strong footprint in Africa, is poised to bring significant advancements to governance in The Gambia through the deployment of an advanced Human Resources Management Information System (HRMIS).
In a landmark achievement, CSM Tech has been awarded a contract by the Gambian Ministry of Finance & Economic Affairs (MoFEA) to develop and implement a comprehensive HRMIS under the Gambia Fiscal Management Development Project (GFMDP). This initiative will see CSM Tech spearheading the rollout of the HRMIS across all governmental ministries, departments, and institutions.
Supported by the World Bank, this initiative is set to modernize The Gambia’s fiscal management framework, aligning it with global best practices to stimulate sustainable economic growth. The integration of cutting-edge Information and Communication Technology (ICT) into The Gambia’s public sector marks a pivotal shift towards more efficient governance and economic planning.
Priyadarshi Nanu Pany, Founder and CEO of CSM Tech, commented, “Our collaboration with the Gambian government is a significant step forward in modernizing public service delivery in West Africa. The introduction of our state-of-the-art HRMIS will streamline processes, enhance transparency, and create a more responsive government. We are honored to lead this digital transformation and set a new standard for public sector modernization in the region.”
Asit Mohanty, Senior Manager (HR) at CSM Tech, added, “The HRMIS project underscores CSM Tech’s commitment to global digital transformation. By upgrading human resource management in the public sector, we are equipping The Gambia to make data-driven decisions about its workforce and align human capital with national development objectives.”
The new HRMIS will provide real-time insights into human capital, enabling the Gambian government to make strategic decisions, optimize resource allocation, and ensure workforce alignment with national goals. This system is expected to enhance public service efficiency, making The Gambia a frontrunner in e-governance within West Africa.
The project is part of the broader Integrated Financial Management and Information System (IFMIS) initiative, encompassing core financial management, expenditure management, revenue management, general ledger, budgeting, and HR and payroll functions.
