New Delhi, July 4, 2024 (TBB Bureau): Dalmia Bharat Limited (DBL), a prominent name in India’s cement industry, on Thursday announced the successful launch of commercial production at its newly expanded cement manufacturing unit in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh. The plant, which previously operated at a capacity of 2.6 MTPA, has now added an additional 1.0 MTPA, bringing Dalmia Bharat’s total installed capacity to 46.6 MTPA across its subsidiaries.
This strategic expansion, backed by an investment of Rs. 207 crore, is a significant step towards meeting the rising demand for cement in the Southern region. It underscores Dalmia Bharat’s commitment to bolstering its market presence and supporting regional infrastructure growth. The company aims to further elevate its total installed capacity to between 110-130 MTPA by 2031, aligning with its ambitious long-term growth strategy.
Commenting on the expansion, Dalmia Bharat Limited Managing Director & CEO Puneet Dalmia said, “The additional capacity expansion at Kadapa along with our recent expansion in Tamil Nadu reinforces our commitment to support the growing infrastructure needs in the Southern region. With the expected focus on overall infrastructure capital outlay and its deployment, we see significant growth opportunities ahead especially in the Southern states where we continue to be a major player delivering quality products.”
