Cuttack, December 26, 2024 (TBB Bureau): The Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd (DCBL), marked National Farmers’ Day with a two-day event in Cuttack on December 23 and 24. The event underscored DBF’s commitment to empowering farmers through sustainable agricultural practices and community upliftment initiatives.
A highlight of the program was the distribution of 1 HP motor pumps to 60 vegetable farmers from the villages of Garudagaon, Uchapada, Paria, and Byree, aiming to enhance irrigation efficiency and bolster crop yields. To further support agricultural innovation, DBF facilitated discussions on agricultural reforms and farmer empowerment, encouraging dialogue and knowledge exchange among participants.
In collaboration with senior scientists from Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Cuttack, the event also hosted a specialized training session on kitchen gardening. The program, which benefitted 30 participants, offered practical insights into growing nutrient-rich produce, fostering food security at the household level. Additionally, seeds, nets, and water cans were distributed to 200 beneficiaries, reinforcing DBF’s commitment to sustainable farming practices.
The event was graced by Dr. Sujata Sethy, Senior Scientist and Chief Guest, along with senior officers from the Dalmia Cement Kapilas Cement Works (KCW) unit. Their presence underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in driving rural development.
