BHUBANESWAR, JULY 15, 2024 (TBB BUREAU): In a celebration of World Youth Skills Day, Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), the CSR arm of Dalmia Bharat Ltd (DBL), supported the ambitions of aspiring electricians by distributing electrical tool kits at its DIKSHa (Dalmia Institute of Knowledge and Skill Harnessing) center in Rajgangpur on Monday.
Supported by Schneider Electric India Foundation, DBF handed out 25 tool kits to trainees of the Electrical Assistant course, aiming to equip them for promising careers in the burgeoning electrical sector amidst India’s rapid urbanization.
The event, attended by unit officials, dignitaries, and esteemed guests, underscored DBF’s commitment to fostering self-reliance and sustainable livelihoods.
Commenting on the initiative, Dalmia Bharat Foundation CEO Ashok Kumar Gupta said, “At Dalmia Bharat, we are committed to nurturing our youth through skill development, enabling their journey towards self-reliance. These kits are more than just tools; they represent hope that these toolkits motivate the trainees for self-employment and a brighter future. This initiative marks a significant step in our ongoing efforts to build resilient communities and driving sustainable growth across India. DIKSHa, renowned for its efforts in skill development and empowering rural youth, operates 20 centers nationwide. Over 16,000 individuals have graduated from DIKSHa programs, with 75 per cent achieving gainful employment or establishing successful ventures. Notably, over half of the trainees are women, reflecting DIKSHa’s steadfast commitment to gender inclusivity and empowerment.
The Rajgangpur center alone has trained 1145 students to date, enabling them to earn between Rs 10,000 and Rs 25,000 per month.
This initiative marks a pivotal stride in DBF’s ongoing mission to fortify communities and drive sustainable growth across India, buoyed by the generous support of Schneider Electric India Foundation.
