Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), the CSR arm of Dalmia Bharat Ltd. (DBL), has partnered with Saint-Gobain India Pvt. Ltd (Gyproc Business), a global leader in light and sustainable construction, to introduce specialized training in Drywall and False Ceiling systems. The program, set to be conducted at DBF’s DIKSHa skill development center in Rajgangpur, Odisha, aims to equip 120 youth annually with industry-relevant skills, addressing the increasing demand for trained professionals in the construction sector.
The collaboration brings together Gyproc India’s industry-leading technical expertise and DIKSHa’s established training framework, ensuring skill development that enhances employability and aligns with modern construction needs. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Ashok Gupta, CEO, Dalmia Bharat Foundation, and Sudeep Kolte, Managing Director, Saint-Gobain India Pvt. Ltd (Gyproc Business).
Under the agreement, Saint-Gobain India Pvt. Ltd (Gyproc Business) will establish a state-of-the-art training lab, while DBF will oversee its operational execution and management. This initiative marks the 12th Drywall and False Ceiling Skill Training Center under Saint-Gobain Gyproc’s initiative, reinforcing its commitment to developing skilled professionals for the construction industry.
Highlighting the significance of the initiative, Ashok Gupta, CEO, Dalmia Bharat Foundation, said, “Rapid urbanization is driving the demand for modern construction techniques, making specialized skills in Drywall and False Ceiling systems essential. Dalmia Bharat Foundation’s DIKSHa initiative focuses on placement-linked, short-term skill enhancement programs across various trades. With 22 training centers across India, DIKSHa has successfully trained over 20,000 individuals, achieving a placement or self-employment success rate exceeding 75%.
