Dalmia Cement celebrates 78th Independence Day with patriotic fervor in Rajgangpur

Rajgangpur, August 16, 2024 (TBB Bureau): Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited marked the 78th Independence Day with grandeur and patriotism at Veer Birsa Stadium, Rajgangpur, on Thursday. The event was graced by esteemed guests Subash Chandra Pradhan and Umakanta Jena, senior employees from the Logistics and Utility Department of Dalmia Cement, who were invited as the chief guests for the occasion. The celebration began with the flag hoisting by Subash Chandra Pradhan, followed by an inspection of the guard of honor.

In his address, Pradhan conveyed heartfelt wishes to the audience, reflecting on India’s remarkable journey over the past 78 years. He paid tribute to the nation’s rich history and the sacrifices made by countless individuals to achieve independence. The celebration was further enriched by the enthusiastic participation of NCC Cadets from Dalmia Vidya Mandir (DVM) and the plant’s security personnel.

A special highlight of the event was the recognition of students from Dalmia Vidya Mandir who achieved outstanding results in their Matriculation and Plus Two Examinations. Their names were announced, and arrangements were made to deliver their prizes to their respective schools.

Besides, employees from the Dalmia Cement Security Department were honored for their exemplary service, showcasing the company’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding dedication.

This year’s Independence Day celebrations were part of the national ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ initiative, which encourages every citizen to hoist the tricolor at their homes. Dalmia Cement Rajgangpur embraced this initiative by displaying the national flag prominently across its premises and factory. The celebrations extended to the Lanjibarna Mine Office and the Rehabilitation & Resettlement Colony, reflecting the company’s deep-rooted patriotic spirit.

The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) department of Dalmia Cement also played a pivotal role in the celebrations by organizing various programs across schools in the plant and mines periphery villages. The Dalmia Institute of Knowledge and Skill Harnessing (DIKSHa) centre also hosted activities, furthering the company’s engagement with the community.

Prominent figures at the event included Dr. Niladri Bhushan Parhi, Deputy Executive Director of DCBL and Unit HR Head-Rajgangpur, Omprakash Khelkar, AED Lanjibarna Mines, Dr. D.K. Singh, AED & Regional Medical Officer of Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd, Dr. Kabita Singh, Chief Medical Officer Rajgangpur, and Priti Jirkuntwar, National Mahila Mandal President. The event was also attended by the President and members of Jagruti Mahila Mandal, Sangam Mahila Mandal, and the Principal of Dalmia Vidya Mandir, Jaydeb Kar, alongside senior officials, employees, and parents.

The program concluded with a vibrant display of patriotic songs and dance performed by the students of Dalmia Vidya Mandir, followed by a devotional play presented by the students of Dalmia Private Industrial Training Institute (DITI).

The entire event was meticulously coordinated by Aparna Mishra of DCBL Rajgangpur’s Human Resources Department, along with Yashashree Lenka and Chinmay Sa of Dalmia Vidya Mandir. The day’s proceedings culminated with a vote of thanks delivered by Subrat Pattnaik of the Security Department.

The event’s success was a result of the collective efforts of the company’s administration, estate, fire service, and security department staff, who worked tirelessly to ensure a memorable celebration of the nation’s independence.
