DHAMRA, JUNE 24, 2024 (TBB BUREAU): On the occasion of Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani’s birthday, Dhamra Port has undertaken a significant initiative aimed at bolstering ecological biodiversity. More than 10,000 saplings were planted within the port premises during a spirited event that drew over 700 participants, including employees, workmen, and stakeholders.
The plantation drive primarily focused on casuarinas equisetifolia, a species renowned for its ecological benefits, with the goal of enhancing the flora and fauna of the port area. This effort forms part of a broader commitment to plant 300,000 saplings throughout the current fiscal year.
Adani Dhamra Port CEO Devendra Thakar, and COO Sanjeev Kumar Gupta were present to oversee the event, underscoring their dedication to environmental sustainability.
Beyond the port’s boundaries, collaborative efforts with local panchayats, villages along the rail corridor, schools, colleges, and societies across Bhadrak district are fostering green initiatives.
The celebration of Adani Day not only honours the visionary leadership of Gautam Adani but also reinforces the Adani Group’s enduring pledge to ecological conservation and sustainable development.
