Bhubaneswar, December 19, 2024 (TBB Bureau): Former Prime Minister of Slovakia, Eduard Heger, delivered an inspiring keynote address at the prestigious KIIT Knowledge Tree Lecture on Thursday. Speaking to a captivated audience of students and faculty, Heger emphasized the importance of balancing academic excellence with moral values, urging young minds to contribute positively to society.

Heger went on to stress that true peace and fulfillment cannot be achieved through fame and material wealth alone. “True peace is found in giving back to society,” he noted, lauding Dr. Achyuta Samanta, the visionary Founder of KIIT and KISS, as a shining example of selflessness and dedication to societal progress.
Drawing attention to the qualities of effective leadership, Heger highlighted the role of strong character and adherence to ethical values. He stated, “Leaders who prioritize ethics and values serve as role models, inspiring others to follow suit.” He urged students to embody humility and kindness, qualities that he believes are essential for driving positive societal change. “With courage and dedication, individuals have the power to transform their surroundings,” he added, once again pointing to Dr. Samanta’s achievements as a case in point.
The event opened with a warm welcome address by Dr. Achyuta Samanta, whose contributions to education and social welfare received praise throughout Heger’s speech. Professor Sharanjit Singh, Vice Chancellor of KIIT Deemed to be University, expressed gratitude to the distinguished guest with a heartfelt vote of thanks.
Earlier in the day, Heger toured the campuses of KIIT and KISS, where he interacted with students and witnessed firsthand the impact of Dr. Samanta’s initiatives.
