Bhadrak, October 24, 2024 (TBB Bureau): As Cyclone ‘Dana’ approaches the Odisha coast, Ferro Alloys Corporation Ltd. (FACOR) has rolled out an extensive preparedness plan to safeguard the community and livestock in and around its facilities. This proactive initiative aims to mitigate the effects of the impending cyclone, reflecting FACOR’s commitment to both community well-being and animal welfare.
One of the standout features of FACOR’s preparedness plan is its focus on providing essential fodder support for stray cattle. Recognizing the vulnerability of livestock during cyclonic events, FACOR has ensured that necessary provisions are in place to protect animals from food shortages and harsh weather conditions.
This apart, FACOR has deployed a mobile health camp team, equipped with medicines, first-aid supplies, and a Mobile Health Unit (MHU) vehicle. The health team is on standby to deliver emergency medical services and assist in transporting critical cases to nearby hospitals. This ensures that not only are community members prepared for any health-related emergencies, but also that there is a swift response mechanism in place during the cyclone.
By addressing both animal and human welfare, FACOR’s preparedness plan underscores its integrated approach to disaster management. It highlights the company’s ongoing efforts to build resilience in the community while providing timely and necessary support during natural calamities.
FACOR, one of India’s leading producers of charge chrome, was established in 1983 and became part of the Vedanta Group in September 2020. As a socially responsible corporate, the company has a strong legacy of contributing to the socio-economic development of the region through its structured CSR initiatives, enhancing the well-being of the community at large.
