“Fire safety is not just the responsibility of the fire department; it requires the active participation of every individual. The knowledge and preparedness gained during this week will undoubtedly contribute to making Paradip a safer place for everyone,” said Nilabhra Dasgupta, Deputy Chairman of the Paradip Port Authority (PPA), at the valedictory ceremony of Fire Safety Awareness Week.

With this powerful message at its heart, the Fire Safety Awareness Week concluded on a high note at Paradip Port, leaving behind a trail of awareness, engagement, and community-driven action. Observed from April 14th to April 21st, 2025, the week-long initiative was organized by the Paradip Fire Department in collaboration with local organizations and volunteers to raise awareness about fire prevention and preparedness.

This year’s campaign was anchored by the theme “Unite, to ignite a fire safe India,” underscoring the significance of community involvement and proactive measures in tackling fire-related emergencies. Over the week, a host of activities—including educational workshops, fire drills, public campaigns, and industry-specific safety programs — were conducted to spread life-saving knowledge across various sections of society.

The closing ceremony, held at Gate No.-4, was inaugurated with a welcome address by Shri Sanat Kumar Patel, Commandant, CISF, and concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks from Shri Akash Jaiswal, Assistant Commandant, CISF. The event also recognized the winners of multiple competitions held during the week, celebrating the enthusiastic participation of schoolchildren, homemakers, PPA employees, port beneficiaries, and members of the public who played a pivotal role in promoting fire safety awareness.

Adding to the impact of the event were the dynamic fire rescue and disaster management demonstrations conducted by the CISF Department, showcasing real-time response strategies and preparedness techniques.

The Paradip Fire Department expressed deep gratitude to all stakeholders and reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to enhancing public safety through continuous education, engagement, and efficient emergency services. The success of the Fire Safety Awareness Week at PPA stands as a testament to the power of collective action in building a safer and more resilient community.
