Kolkata, May 07, 2024 (TBB Bureau): In a significant move towards enhancing educational opportunities and fostering academic collaboration, the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Amity University, Kolkata. The initiative, part of ICSI’s Academic Collaboration Initiative, aims to facilitate a comprehensive partnership focused on imparting knowledge and skills in various domains.
Under the terms of the MoU, both institutions will engage in joint academic research, workshops, and professional development programs aimed at students and academicians. The collaborative efforts will enable synergies in areas such as compliance, securities markets, law, and governance.
The MoU signing ceremony saw CS B Narasimhan, President of ICSI, and Dr. Amrita Saha, Registrar of Amity University, Kolkata, sealing the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions. The event, graced by dignitaries including CS Dhananjay Shukla, Vice President of ICSI, and Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Vice Chancellor of Amity University, marked a pivotal moment in the journey of both organizations.
Speaking on the occasion, CS B Narasimhan emphasized the significance of such collaborations in nurturing well-qualified professionals. “The MoU will help in developing well qualified professionals through capacity building and research-based collaborative programs,” remarked President Narasimhan.
Dr. Sanjay Kumar echoed similar sentiments, expressing his delight at the partnership’s potential to leverage cross-institutional opportunities. “This collaboration will pave the way for leveraging opportunities arising out of cross-institutional relevance,” noted Dr. Kumar, underscoring the transformative impact of the partnership.
