The NTPC Northern Regional Headquarters in Lucknow hosted a highly successful NTPC Northern Electron Quiz Regional Round on Monday, drawing an impressive participation of 148 teams from 21 renowned engineering and management institutes across Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
In a fiercely contested quiz, IIM Lucknow emerged as the standout institution, securing both the first and second positions. The winning team, comprising Vibhav Tripathi and Prasant Singh Chauhan, displayed exceptional knowledge, while the runners-up, Faheem Shanavas and Deepak Kumar Saha, proved their mettle in a thrilling contest. IIT-BHU claimed third place, with Sanjeev V. A. and S. Vigneshswaram finishing strong in a closely fought battle that kept audiences on the edge of their seats until the final round.
S. Rao, Regional Executive Director (NR), extended heartfelt congratulations to the winners and all participants, praising the NTPC Electron Quiz for its contribution to fostering a culture of quizzing among young minds. He emphasized the special significance of this year’s edition, marking NTPC’s 50th anniversary, a remarkable milestone celebrating five decades of service to nation-building.
Since its inception in 2004, the NTPC Electron Quiz has grown in stature, becoming a prestigious platform for academic excellence. This year’s theme, ‘The World of Business and Management,’ reflected the ever-evolving nature of industry knowledge, pushing participants to explore critical business concepts.
The winners were honoured by N. S. Rao, in the presence of Smt. Vijaya Rao, President of the Uttara Club, along with senior NTPC officials, including the General Managers of OS and HR, and esteemed members of the Uttara Club.
NTPC, India’s largest integrated power utility, is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025. As part of the celebrations, the NTPC Electron Quiz 2025 is being conducted across nine regional locations — Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Ranchi, Noida, Raipur, and Patna — between February 1 and 28. The top two teams from each region will progress to the National Semi-Finals, with the best teams advancing to the National Finals, where the ultimate champions will be crowned.
