PARADIP, JULY 13, 2024 (TBB BUREAU): IndianOil has marked a significant milestone in the realm of motor racing with the launch of STORM-X, a cutting-edge high octane gasoline specially crafted for racing cars. The inaugural dispatch ceremony took place from Paradip Refinery to the Madras International Circuit in Chennai. The event was virtually flagged off by V Satish Kumar, Director (Marketing) of IndianOil, alongside N Senthil Kumar, Director (Pipelines), and Alok Sharma, Director (R&D).
STORM-X represents IndianOil’s foray into the premium racing fuel segment, catering to top-tier motor racing events both domestically and internationally. The brainchild of Shrikant Madhav Vaidya, Chairman of IndianOil, this initiative underscores the company’s commitment to innovation and excellence in fuel technology.
Developed at the state-of-the-art IndianOil Research & Development Centre in Faridabad and produced at the advanced Paradip Refinery, STORM-X blends high-octane gasoline with sustainable components, including 2G Ethanol sourced from Panipat Refinery. The fuel has been certified by Bureau Veritas, Dubai, meeting the stringent FIA 2024 specifications.
In collaboration with the Madras Motor Sports Club, IndianOil will supply STORM-X for the upcoming 3rd and 4th rounds of the Indian National Racing Championship at the Madras International Circuit during the 2024 season.
The launch ceremony saw the dispatch of 55 barrels of STORM-X for the third round, highlighting the beginning of a new era in Indian motorsports.
