Jindal Steel & Power blossoms to victory: Wins 1st prize at State-Level Flower Exhibition 2025 in Bhubaneswar

Jindal Steel & Power (JSP), Angul, has earned the prestigious 1st Prize at the State-Level Flower Exhibition-2025, held at the Regional Plant Resource Centre (RPRC), Ekamra Kanan Botanical Garden in Bhubaneswar. This annual event, inaugurated by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on January 7, concluded on January 12. JSP’s winning display, which mesmerized both judges and visitors, featured an exquisite collection of exotic plant species under the theme “Pravashi Bharti,” aimed at encouraging Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) to contribute to Odisha’s development.

Under the dynamic leadership of Pankaj Malhan, Executive Director in charge of the Angul location, BP Mishra, Executive Vice President, and Alok Kumar Sahu, Vice President EMD, the horticulture team from JSP Angul delivered a breathtaking presentation. Key contributors, including Dr. SP Sharma, Vachaspati Mishra, and the entire horticulture team, represented JSP throughout the exhibition, ensuring a robust presence and an outstanding showcase.

The exhibition featured participation from approximately 20 corporate houses, such as Tata Steel, OMS, Adani, Nalco, Hindalco, JSW, and KIIT University.

The awards ceremony was graced by Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia, Minister of Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Labour & Employees’ State Insurance, who presented the trophies to the winners.

Distinguished guests on the dais included Satyabrata Sahu, Additional Chief Secretary of the Forest, Environment, and Climate Change Department of Odisha; Prem Kumar Jha, Director, Environment-cum-Special Secretary; Suresh Pant, Managing Director of the Odisha Forest Development Corporation Limited (OFDC Ltd); Khirod Kumar Pattnaik, President of the Plant Lovers Association; and Hemant Kumar Pal, Secretary of the Odisha Rose Society.

JSP’s remarkable victory at the State Flower Show underscores its unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability and community engagement. This achievement reflects the company’s dedication to promoting biodiversity and enhancing the green cover of Odisha, solidifying its role as a leader in fostering ecological balance and development.
