JODA/BARBIL, JUNE 6, 2024 (TBB BUREAU): Jindal Steel & Power (JSP) spearheaded vibrant celebrations for World Environment Day 2024 across its Barbil Pellet Plant, Tensa, and Kasia Mines on Wednesday. The event saw robust participation from nearby villagers, community leaders, school students, employees, and their families, all rallying under the global theme of ‘Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience.’
The festivities encompassed a range of activities, including tree plantation drives, awareness rallies, and engaging drawing & essay competitions for both employees and children in the colony. Ashish Pandey, Head Raw Materials, V. Srikanth, Head Mines, along with Unit Heads Purushotham MD, Pramod Kumar Patra, and Kamalakanta Nanda, joined by Asish Ranjan Mohanty, Head HR & ES, other senior Executives, and employees, participated enthusiastically. VB Mishra, Head EMD & Horticulture Department, and his team orchestrated the events.
Under the guidance of Vargil Lakra, Head of CSR, JSP Foundation orchestrated awareness programs and plantation drives in nearby villages and schools. Their efforts received overwhelming support from school children, the general public, Sarpanch, and Samiti Members, underscoring the community’s commitment to environmental preservation.
JSP Foundation Chairperson Shallu Jindal, emphasized the significance of collective action in safeguarding the planet, stating, “Our planet has many different landscapes, each with its own beauty and uniqueness on this World Environment Day, let’s all work together to protect and nourish our mother Earth. If we all join our head and heart, we can make sure that future generations have a healthy planet. We are strongly pursuing the theme of WED 2024 across all our project locations.”
