In a significant step towards strengthening workforce capabilities, Jindal Steel & Power (JSP) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with C V Raman Global University, Odisha (CGU-Odisha) under the “Dakshata” initiative. This strategic partnership aligns with the vision of JSP Chairman Naveen Jindal to advance the Skill India mission across the country.

The MoU was signed by Pankaj Malhan, Executive Director in Charge (Angul), JSP, and Dr. G Sridevi, Pro-Vice Chancellor, CGU-Odisha. The signing ceremony was attended by JSP’s CHRO Dilip Kumar Sinha, Vice President (HR) Subhash Chander, and CGU’s Professor of Practice Amulya Mohapatra, along with senior officials including Debasis Mahapatra, Head (Welding COE), and Rajat Samantaray, Head (Automation COE).

Through this collaboration, JSP and CGU-Odisha will jointly conduct skill enhancement programmes at the Naveen Jindal Skill Centre at JSP’s Angul facility and the Centre of Excellence (CoE) at CGU-Odisha. These training initiatives will focus on critical trades such as welding, fabrication, and electrical work, as well as futuristic skill domains catering to emerging industry needs.

In addition to core trades, specialised training will be provided in industrial automation, covering PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, hydraulics, pneumatics, and advanced manufacturing. The initiative will also focus on advanced welding, machining, simulation, and modelling, ensuring that JSP’s workforce remains at the forefront of industry advancements.

Highlighting the significance of this partnership, Pankaj Malhan said, “The partnership underscores our shared commitment to building a highly skilled workforce, aligned with industry standards and future requirements. We believe this initiative, reinforcing the commitment of our Chairman Shri Naveen Jindal, will significantly contribute to workforce excellence and enhance operational efficiency in the skill ecosystem at JSP as well as across India.”

The initiative aims to strengthen the skills of newly recruited and existing employees, including executives, non-executives, and contract workers, through structured training and upskilling programmes. This collaboration will play a pivotal role in equipping JSP’s workforce with the expertise required to meet evolving industrial demands while contributing to India’s larger skill development goals.
