NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR, AUGUST 4, 2024 (TBB BUREAU): Jindal Steel & Power (JSP), a leading steelmaker, has been honoured with the prestigious Exceed CSR Award-2024, supported by the Ministry of Environment and Forests, for its exceptional commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) across its operational sites. This accolade underscores JSP’s dedication to sustainable development and its profound impact on the lives of over 14 million individuals across diverse regions of India.
The award was presented to JSP’s President & Group Head (CSR), Prashant Hota, by Telangana’s Agriculture Minister T Nageswara Rao, at a ceremony held in Hyderabad on Friday. The event, organized by the Sustainable Development Foundation and supported by the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, also featured the presence of former bureaucrat and former DG of IICA, Bhaskar Chatterjee.
Expressing his gratitude on behalf of JSP, Chairman Naveen Jindal, a three-time Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), emphasized, “Sustainable improvement in the quality of life of the local community is embedded in the vision and mission of Jindal Steel & Power. Pursuing our guiding philosophy of ‘People First, Nation First,’ we always strive to make a positive impact on society and the environment, ensuring that the lives of people and the quality of biodiversity are consistently transformed to the next better level.”
Chairman Jindal extended his appreciation to the jury and the dedicated team at JSP Foundation, led by Chairperson Shallu Jindal, for their unwavering efforts in translating his vision of inclusive development into substantial reality.
Notably, JSP’s Angul unit was recognized with the Gold Award in the Steel Sector for its exemplary achievements in environmental conservation.
Through its social initiative, JSP Foundation, Jindal Steel & Power has been actively implementing comprehensive social development programs encompassing education, healthcare, skill development, women empowerment, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability.
Previously, JSP was a recipient of the prestigious National CSR Award-2020 in two categories by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, and recently, it received the ASSOCHAM Odisha CSR & Sustainability Excellence Award.
