The Jindal Steel Premier League 2024-25 concluded in a dazzling display of cricketing prowess, wrapping up a month-long celebration of sportsmanship and skill at Jindal Steel & Power (JSP). Spearheaded by JSP-HR Angul, the tournament ran from December 7, 2024, to January 17, 2025, captivating audiences with intense competition in the JSP Gents, JSP Ladies, and JSP School categories.
In the JSP Gents category, the tournament witnessed the participation of 54 teams in a series of gripping 10-over matches. The final, a nail-biting encounter between Extreme SMS India and CHP Smashers, saw Extreme SMS India emerge victorious. Chasing a target of 121 runs, they sealed the win in the 9th over with five wickets in hand. Luna, the tournament’s Man of the Series and Best Batsman, dazzled with 213 runs and six wickets. Chinmaya Sahu’s explosive 38 runs off 12 balls earned him the Man of the Match title in the final, while Mariyappan claimed the Best Bowler accolade with 11 wickets. Devesh Deepak and Tanmaya Pradhan, captains of the winning and runner-up teams respectively, lauded the organizers and JSP Management for their support.
The JSP Ladies category saw JQSFSS clinch the championship, overcoming JQLC Club in a competitive final. In the JSP School category, OPJS XI secured the championship title with a hard-fought victory over SJDAVHS.
The grand finale was marked by the presence of esteemed guests, including CHRO Dilip Sinha, who commended the players for their exemplary sportsmanship. Joining him were Atul Dubey, President SMS; Srikant Atre, AVP-SMS; Sarat Kishor Panda, GM – BHR; and Rajeev Soni, GM-Safety, all of whom celebrated the spirit and enthusiasm that defined the league.
