Reliance Jio has once again stamped its authority in the digital connectivity space, emerging as the undisputed leader in Odisha’s 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) market. According to the latest data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Jio AirFiber has clinched an overwhelming 87% market share in the 5G FWA segment in Odisha, marking a landmark achievement in the state’s digital transformation journey.

This is the first time TRAI has released dedicated figures for the 5G FWA segment, and the numbers speak volumes. As of January 31, 2025, over 1.3 lakh subscribers in Odisha have embraced Jio’s next-gen broadband solution, leaving Airtel trailing far behind with just 18,000 subscribers. The total 5G FWA user base in the state has now crossed 1.5 lakh, indicating the rapid adoption of wireless broadband as a preferred connectivity option.

On the national front, Jio continues to lead the 5G FWA race with a commanding 84% market share, serving over 48 lakh subscribers. In contrast, Airtel has garnered around 8 lakh subscribers across India.

The success of Jio AirFiber is being hailed as a game changer, especially in rural and semi-urban areas, where traditional broadband infrastructure faces geographical and logistical hurdles. Jio’s innovative 5G FWA model is bridging the last-mile connectivity gap, bringing uninterrupted high-speed internet, 800+ digital TV channels, 11+ OTT apps, smart home features, and unlimited Wi-Fi to homes and businesses that previously lacked access to quality broadband services.

Jio AirFiber has become a digital lifeline for thousands of villages and towns across Odisha. It is not just a product; it’s a mission to empower every Indian home with the best in digital connectivity and entertainment.

Further solidifying its dominance, Jio also topped mobile subscriber additions in Odisha during January 2025, with nearly 50,000 new users joining its network. This takes Jio’s total mobile subscriber base in the state to a staggering 1.57 crore, reinforcing its position as the No. 1 mobile network in Odisha.
