New Delhi, July 29, 2024 (TBB Bureau): Kurukshetra MP, distinguished industrialist and Jindal Steel & Power Chairman Naveen Jindal was honored with the prestigious Mahatma Hansraj Gaurav Award during the 77th foundation day celebration of Hansraj College, Delhi University. The award recognized his significant contributions to promoting the national flag, the Tricolor, and his relentless legal efforts to ensure its visibility and accessibility to all citizens.
Jindal, an esteemed alumnus of Hansraj College where he completed his degree in commerce, was celebrated for his impactful achievements across various domains including politics, industry, education, and sports. The award was presented by Delhi University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Yogesh Singh and Hansraj College Principal Prof. Rama.
Vice President and Delhi University Chancellor Jagdeep Dhankhar, the chief guest of the event, praised Jindal’s dedication to making the Tricolor a symbol of national pride accessible to every Indian. Dhankhar highlighted Jindal’s historic legal battle to affirm the right of every citizen to fly the Tricolor year-round, a cause that reflects his deep commitment to national unity.
In a noteworthy gesture, Vice President Dhankhar announced plans to request the installation of a large national flag at Sainik School, Chittorgarh, during his next visit, a move inspired by Jindal’s impactful work. He commended Jindal for embodying the spirit of Hansraj College and for his contributions to entrepreneurship and job creation in India.
Dr. Prabhanshu Ojha, the event coordinator, underscored Jindal’s ongoing support for Hansraj College, noting his enduring connection and contributions to his alma mater.
