Jindal Steel & Power (JSP) commemorated the 20th Punyatithi of its visionary founder, Om Prakash Jindal Ji, with a Mega Voluntary Blood Donation Camp and various community service initiatives at its Angul plant.

The observance began with the Akhand Shri Ram Charita Manas Puja at the Devbhoomi Temple, Jindal Nagar, where senior leadership, including Pankaj Malhan, Executive Director (Angul Unit), Damodar Mittal, Executive Director (Projects), and Dilip Sinha, CHRO, along with department heads, employees, and their families, paid floral tributes to Shri O.P. Jindal Ji, fondly remembered as Bauji.

JSP, through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm, Jindal Foundation, organized a massive voluntary blood donation drive in collaboration with Odisha Blood Centre, DHH Angul, Athmallik, and Talcher. Employees, their families, and members of the local community participated wholeheartedly, donating 751 units of blood, reinforcing JSP’s unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes.

Guided by Bauji’s belief that “service to mankind is service to God,” voluntary blood donation has become an annual tradition at JSP, deeply embedded in its culture of giving and social responsibility.

In a further step towards community welfare, the Jindal Foundation donated a Mukti Rath (mortuary vehicle) to the District Health Administration, Angul. This essential service will facilitate the dignified transportation of the deceased to their homes. Dilip Sinha, CHRO of JSP, formally handed over the keys to Dr. Shibananda Mohanty, DDM & PHO Angul, in the presence of dignitaries and hospital staff.

Besides, the Jindal Foundation extended support to various social welfare organizations by providing dry ration supplies, reaffirming its dedication to community well-being.

The Jindal Mahila Samiti, led by Seema Malhan and Anita Mittal, also actively participated in these charitable efforts, along with employees from various departments, in a heartfelt tribute to Bauji’s values and vision.

Born into a humble farming family, O.P. Jindal rose to become a pioneering industrialist, shaping India’s steel sector with his vision and leadership. His contributions to nation-building earned him the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In addition to his industrial accomplishments, he served as a Member of the Haryana State Legislature, Member of Parliament, and Minister of Power in the Government of Haryana. His legacy of self-reliance, industrial excellence, and social responsibility continues to guide JSP and the OP Jindal Group in their mission to contribute to India’s growth.

Employees of JSP’s Bhubaneswar office also paid floral tributes to O.P. Jindal on his 20th Punyatithi. Prashant Hota, President and Head (Group CSR), highlighted his pioneering role in “Make in India” and industry-led inclusive social prosperity.
