In a strategic move to boost agricultural development in the Joda region, Jindal Steel and Power (JSP), through its social arm, the Jindal Education and Welfare Society (JEWS), has partnered with a local farmers’ organisation to provide crucial support to small and marginal farmers.

The agreement was signed on Thursday between JEWS and the Jay Maa Buru Krushak Club of Shialijoda village under Deojhar Panchayat. Representing the two organisations, Virgil Lakra, Secretary of JEWS, and Pandia Munda, President of the Krushak Club, formalised the partnership aimed at transforming traditional farming practices in the area.

Under this collaboration, small and marginal farmers will be equipped with modern agricultural machinery, including tractors, trolleys, rotavators, and multi-crop threshers. The initiative, jointly driven by JEWS and the Jindal Foundation, is expected to significantly improve agricultural productivity, ease manual labour, and enhance the economic well-being of local farming communities.

By facilitating access to advanced equipment, JSP seeks to promote the adoption of modern, efficient, and sustainable farming techniques, thereby strengthening the rural economy. The project also aligns with JSP’s broader commitment to holistic community development encompassing agriculture, education, healthcare, sports, and cultural initiatives.

Both JSP and the Jay Maa Buru Krushak Club expressed confidence that the collaboration will yield tangible benefits for farmers and lay the groundwork for long-term agricultural prosperity in the region.
