Bhubaneswar, December 16, 2024 (TBB Bureau): KiiT International School celebrated the 10th Foundation Day of SEN Globe with heartfelt and motivating speeches by distinguished dignitaries, including the Speaker of the Odisha Legislative Assembly, Surama Padhy, and the Founder of KIIT and KISS, Dr. Achyuta Samanta.
Addressing the gathering as Chief Guest, Padhy commended SEN Globe’s unique initiative for children with special needs. She encouraged parents to see their roles as a chance to serve a higher purpose and emphasized the importance of vocational training. Recalling her observations from Australia, she advocated for teaching life skills like toy-making to empower special children. “If equipped with vocational education, these children can become self-reliant and contribute meaningfully to society,” she said, describing them as divine creations of God.
Dr. Samanta highlighted SEN Globe’s integration of children with special needs into mainstream education, a pioneering model in India. “Here, children with special needs and regular students learn together as equals under one roof,” he said, noting that KiiT International School is ranked among the top 10 in the country. Sharing a milestone achievement, he announced that ten SEN Globe students have successfully progressed to higher education at KIIT University. He reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to enhancing skill education to prepare children with special needs for meaningful societal contributions.
Chairperson Monalisa Bal underscored the importance of inclusive education in fostering a sense of belonging among all students. Her visionary outlook shaped the tone of the celebration, emphasizing the integration of special needs students into mainstream education.
KIIT and KISS President Saswati Bal also graced the occasion, extending her best wishes to parents and teachers for their exemplary efforts in nurturing the children’s future.
Principal Sanjay Suar reiterated the school’s dedication to holistic education, while the event honoured eminent academicians Prof. UN Dash and Prof. Haresh Mishra for their significant contributions to education and research.
A major highlight of the day was the inaugural investiture ceremony, where the newly elected Head Boy and Head Girl of KIIT International School were ceremoniously badged by Speaker Padhy, marking a new chapter in the school’s leadership journey.
