In a continued effort to uplift community health under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) mandate, Mahanadi Mines & Minerals Pvt. Ltd. organized a free eye check-up camp in Bijahan village, Sundargarh district, on Wednesday. The initiative, held under the Bijahan mining project, marked another milestone in the company’s commitment to accessible healthcare for rural populations.

A total of 60 villagers benefited from the camp, receiving comprehensive eye examinations conducted by a team of qualified medical professionals. The screenings focused on early detection and treatment of vision-related problems, with the aim of promoting long-term ocular health across the region.

With the inclusion of Bijahan, the company’s ongoing eye care initiative has now extended its reach to over 200 villagers. Those diagnosed with vision impairments will be provided with free prescription spectacles in the coming weeks.

This latest camp follows a series of similar initiatives held earlier this month in the villages of Bhograkachhar, Jharpalam, and Girisima. Collectively, these camps represent a strategic and compassionate outreach effort, addressing vital health needs in the communities surrounding Mahanadi Mines & Minerals’ operational zones.

Villagers across all four locations welcomed the initiative with gratitude, lauding the company for its timely and meaningful intervention. Through such targeted CSR programs, Mahanadi Mines & Minerals continues to create a tangible difference in the lives of those residing in remote and underserved areas, reinforcing its role as a socially responsible corporate citizen.5
