With Odisha gaining national and international recognition in the mining sector, the state is poised to become a key player in India’s economic growth. Tapan Kumar Chand, former CMD of NALCO and an eminent industry expert, emphasized the sector’s potential, saying, “Mining could be Odisha’s gateway to a prosperous future. With rising global demand for minerals and raw materials, the state is witnessing an unprecedented influx of investments from both global corporations and domestic enterprises.”
His statement sets the tone for the much-awaited 3rd Odisha Mining and Infrastructure International Expo, scheduled to be held from March 6th-9th, 2025, at Baramunda Ground, Bhubaneswar. As India’s largest exhibition of its kind, the event will bring together top players from the mining, construction, and infrastructure industries, facilitating discussions on innovation, collaboration, and business opportunities.
The four-day expo is organized by Futurex Trade Fair and Events Pvt. Ltd., with support from industry stakeholders such as the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Skill Council of Mining Sector, and co-organized by the Odisha Assembly of Small and Medium Enterprises (OASME). In addition, HELP, INDI TREE, and Anveshi Foundation have partnered as NGO and Knowledge Partners, respectively.
Dignitaries including Swami Prem Anveshi, Managing Director of Futurex Group; Sudhanshu Sekhar Mohanty, Director of IIG Group; Bimal Kumar Raul, PRO to the MP of Bhubaneswar; Namit Gupta, Director of Futurex Group; Sanjeev Nayak, Managing Director of Equipage Infracore Pvt. Ltd.; and Manasmita Jena, Secretary of H.E.L.P., convened to announce the expo and discuss its significance. They highlighted the industry’s current growth trends and how the event is expected to benefit businesses and stakeholders.
The expo will showcase cutting-edge mining machinery, technological innovations, and solutions tailored to the evolving needs of the mining and infrastructure sectors. With participation from over 250 companies, attendees can witness the latest advancements defining the industry’s future. Prominent exhibitors include SANY, Schwing Stetter, Thyssenkrupp Industries, KYB Combat, Torsa Crusher, Hailstone, MB Crusher, Equipage, Ocean Conveyors, Saksham Casting, Trishul Tread, Tata Hitachi, Deepak Fertilizers, Gnu Steel Casting, ARB Bearings, and Organotech Equipments.
This year’s event is set to be bigger and more impactful, featuring more than 10 international delegations, 300+ global companies, 7,000+ registrations, and 35+ eminent speakers. The expo will span a massive 500,000 sq. ft. exhibition area, making it India’s largest mining equipment and technology showcase.
A two-day conclave will focus on sustainability, inclusivity, innovation, and equipment applications. The event aims to promote Odisha as a prime destination for mining investments while positioning it as a manufacturing hub for mining equipment. It also seeks to establish Odisha as the powerhouse of Eastern India’s mining industry under the Purvodaya Initiative, strengthen the ecosystem for sustainable mining through zero-net mining practices, and provide a global platform for emerging mining technology brands while amplifying the vision of Utkarsh Odisha.
Swami Prem Anveshi, Managing Director, Futurex Group, highlighted the expo’s international dimension, stating that this year’s event will see significant global participation, with representatives from Russia, Germany, Korea, Japan, and Taiwan. These industry leaders will showcase cutting-edge mining technology and equipment designed to revolutionize mining operations and infrastructure development. The event will also attract business delegations and buyers from across India and overseas, offering an excellent opportunity for Indian and international companies to network, collaborate, and explore new business avenues.
Several Indian states renowned for their mining and infrastructure industries, including Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, West Bengal, and Goa, will actively participate in the expo, presenting their regional strengths and seeking strategic partnerships to drive the sector’s growth.
Building on the massive success of its previous edition, the 3rd Odisha Mining and Infrastructure International Expo is expected to outperform its predecessor, which recorded a ₹1,000 crore business volume. This year, the projected business volume is set to triple to ₹3,000 crore, driven by the rising demand for mining and infrastructure solutions. The expo is also expected to expand by 25 per cent in scale, attracting a larger number of participants, exhibitors, and industry stakeholders.
With over 25,000 business visitors anticipated, including industry leaders, government representatives, policymakers, and decision-makers, the event is poised to drive innovation, technology adoption, and economic expansion in India’s mining sector.
