National Aluminium Company Ltd. (NALCO), a Navratna CPSE and a prominent player in alumina and aluminium manufacturing and export, has marked significant milestones in production and sales for the fiscal year 2023-24 (FY24).
In a historic achievement, NALCO has reached its highest-ever Cast Metal production of 463,428 metric tonnes, alongside recording its highest-ever Bauxite Excavation of 76,00,230 metric tonnes and Metal Sale of 470,108 metric tonnes, surpassing all previous records since its establishment.
Moreover, during FY24, the company diversified its product range by introducing a new Aluminium Alloy Ingot (AL-59).
With an exceptional 101.15 percent capacity utilization, NALCO’s Alumina Refinery produced 2,124,000 metric tonnes of Alumina Hydrate, while its Captive Power Plant generated a gross 7193.62 million units of power. Notably, NALCO achieved significant progress in the development and operation of its Utkal D coal block, producing 2 million tonnes of coal, reaching the peak rated capacity of the mine.
Expressing gratitude to the NALCO collective and stakeholders for their invaluable contributions to these accomplishments, NALCO Chairman & Managing Director Sridhar Patra underscored the company’s commitment to surpassing previous benchmarks. He emphasized NALCO’s success in achieving major milestones through backward integration and securing raw materials and energy over the past four years.
