Angul, November 18, 2024 (TBB Bureau): In a landmark step towards enhancing workforce welfare, Naveen Jindal, Member of Parliament from Kurukshetra, Haryana, and Chairman of Jindal Steel & Power (JSP), inaugurated the state-of-the-art Shramveer Palace at JSP’s Angul unit in Odisha. This fully air-conditioned, 1056-bedded accommodation reflects JSP’s unwavering commitment to the well-being and comfort of its workforce.
Designed with meticulous attention to detail, Shramveer Palace boasts branded mattresses, personal almirahs, and world-class amenities, ensuring unparalleled comfort for JSP’s workers. The facility is equipped with Amusement Blocks, offering recreational spaces that promote a balanced lifestyle.
Speaking at the inauguration, Naveen Jindal highlighted the company’s dedication to workforce welfare, stating, “For us, every worker’s safety, good health, social security, and comfort are top priorities. We are consistently ensuring the well-being of all the manpower striving for the growth and betterment of our company and thereby dedicating themselves to nation-building.”
“I hope these facilities will provide the right ambience and quality of life to our workforce, who are contributing their sweat and skill for the larger cause of nation-building,” he added.
Following the inauguration, Shri Jindal personally inspected the facility, including the quality of mattresses and other critical amenities. He emphasized the importance of maintaining hygiene for health and urged workers to uphold cleanliness standards.
The workforce expressed heartfelt gratitude for the thoughtfully designed accommodations, thanking Shri Naveen Jindal and JSP for their transformative efforts.
JSP’s Angul unit is poised to become the world’s largest single-location steel manufacturing facility by 2030, with a projected production capacity of 25 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). This ambitious vision positions JSP as a leader in the global steel industry.
As part of its larger mission, JSP has also developed two additional accommodation units at Shramik Vihar, collectively offering 3000 air-conditioned beds in this phase. Plans are underway to expand these facilities to house 20,000 workers by the end of 2025, underscoring JSP’s holistic approach to workforce welfare.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of Shri Pankaj Malhan, Executive Director and Head of JSP’s Angul unit, alongside other dignitaries, showcasing JSP’s commitment to fostering a thriving and motivated workforce.
