RANCHI, JUNE 6, 2024 (TBB BUREAU): Skill development is the cornerstone of self-reliance and empowerment, and NTPC Mining Limited (NML), Ranchi, is spearheading a transformative initiative under its CSR umbrella. NML has undertaken the commendable task of sponsoring 80 project-affected youths, including 25 girls, hailing from coal mining projects and surrounding areas in the states of Jharkhand, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh, for skill development. This initiative is being carried out in collaboration with the prestigious Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET), Ranchi.
During this comprehensive training program, CIPET will impart job-oriented skill development training to the youths in two specialized courses: Machine Operator – Plastic Processing and Machine Operator – Injection Moulding.
To inspire and motivate the rural students, who are also Project Affected Persons (PAPs) from NTPC Coal Mining projects, Rajnish Rastogi, Chief General Manager (HR), conducted an engaging interaction session on Wednesday. The event, graced by the esteemed presence of Pravin Bachhav, Joint Director & Head, CIPET, Ranchi, aimed to connect with the students enrolled in the 6-month plastic technology courses at CIPET, Ranchi.
During the interaction, Rastogi actively sought feedback from the students regarding their educational experience and the facilities provided at CIPET. Addressing the students, Rastogi emphasized the esteemed reputation of CIPET in the realm of plastic engineering, highlighting the institute’s pivotal role in providing a conducive environment for learning, skill development, and ultimately, employment opportunities.
The first batch of the Machine Operator – Plastic Processing course commenced on March 20, 2024, with enthusiastic participation from 40 students representing various NTPC Coal Mining Projects, including Pakri Barwadih, Chatti Bariattu, Kerendari, Badam, Banardih, Dulanga, and Talaipalli coal projects. This initiative stands as a beacon of hope, empowering the youth and fostering sustainable growth in the communities affected by coal mining activities.
