NTPC Bongaigaon celebrates Engineers’ Day

Bongaigaon, September 16, 2024 (TBB Bureau):  NTPC Bongaigaon, in partnership with the NTPC Executive Association of Bongaigaon (NEAB), celebrated Engineers’ Day with fervour, honouring the legacy of the eminent engineer Sir M. Visvesvaraya. The event began with floral tributes to Sir M. Visvesvaraya, led by Debabrata Kar, GM (O&M), in the presence of Asutosh Biswas, GM (Operation), Sanjay Deb Barman, General Secretary of NEAB, Hiranmoy Misra, President of NEAB, Onkar Nath, AGM (HR), office bearers along with HODs, senior officials, employees, and new joinees.

The event was highlighted by a speech from Debabrata Kar, who lauded NTPC’s engineering achievements and the critical role of its skilled workforce. Kar emphasized NTPC’s dedication to delivering reliable power and maintaining high standards through sustainable practices. Asutosh Biswas echoed this sentiment, discussing the pivotal role of engineers in driving the company’s success.

This year’s Engineers’ Day was notably special, marking the first time NTPC employees celebrated the occasion over two days. The festivities featured a walkathon, knowledge-sharing presentations, talent showcases, and a quiz session, all aimed at celebrating the spirit of engineering. The event also included a cake-cutting ceremony and the distribution of customized souvenirs to employees, including couples working at NTPC and new joinees.

Sanjay Deb Barman welcomed the gathering, expressing gratitude to NTPC management for their support and highlighting the unity and dedication of the NTPC family in making the celebrations memorable.

The Engineers’ Day event at NTPC Bongaigaon underscored the crucial role engineers play in advancing the company’s mission and fostering a collaborative work environment.
