NTPC Bongaigaon on Saturday marked International Women’s Day with vibrant celebrations, reinforcing its dedication to inclusivity and women empowerment. Embracing the 2025 theme, “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment,” the event recognized the invaluable contributions of women employees.

Arnab Maitra, Head of Project, NTPC Bongaigaon, felicitated women employees with wellness kits as a token of appreciation. Addressing the gathering, Maitra lauded the significant role of women in shaping NTPC’s future and emphasized the need for an enabling environment where women can thrive. He encouraged them to continue excelling and assured NTPC’s unwavering support.

Paresh Mathur, AGM (TS), and Shri Onkar Nath, AGM (HR), also spoke at the event, commending the dedication and professionalism of women employees. Both leaders reaffirmed NTPC’s commitment to fostering gender equality and empowerment.

The day’s celebrations commenced with a fitness-focused agenda, featuring a spirited walkathon that symbolized women’s strides towards empowerment. Following the walkathon, a dynamic Zumba session conducted by a reputed coach from Kokrajhar energized the participants, reinforcing the importance of well-being in NTPC Bongaigaon’s inclusive work environment.

The Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club played a vital role in the celebration, with President Kasturi Maitra, Vice President Soumya Kar, and Senior Member Jhumita Biswas presenting wellness kits to women employees and club members. The club’s participation added warmth to the occasion, reinforcing the message of care and empowerment. During her address, Kasturi Maitra stressed the importance of supporting initiatives that uplift women and girls, inspiring everyone to actively contribute to their well-being.
