Bongaigaon, September 2, 2024 (TBB Bureau): NTPC Bongaigaon has been awarded the prestigious CSR Health Impact Award 2024 in the “Child Health System Strengthening Project (Rural)” category for its transformative work in Tuensang District, Nagaland. This recognition underscores the power station’s unwavering commitment to corporate social responsibility and its efforts to uplift rural communities and improve quality of life.
The award was presented by Ashwini Kumar Choubey, former Union Minister, at a ceremony in Delhi. Shubham Pandey, Law Officer of NTPC Bongaigaon, accepted the honour on behalf of the 750 MW power station. The accolade highlights NTPC Bongaigaon’s impactful initiatives to enhance healthcare services and infrastructure in rural areas, with a special focus on child health.
Following the award presentation, the trophy was handed over to Akhilesh Singh, Head of Project at NTPC Bongaigaon, by Onkar Nath, AGM (HR), in a ceremony attended by senior officials, including Roshan Dungdung, DGM (HR), Madhurjya Singha Lahkar, Senior Manager (HR-Corporate Communication), and Aduity Thakuri, CSR Executive.
The award celebrates NTPC Bongaigaon’s commitment to designing and implementing sustainable projects that address critical health challenges in underserved communities. Speaking on the occasion, Akhilesh Singh lauded the CSR and HR teams for their dedication and hard work, stating, “This recognition highlights our ongoing commitment to driving impactful CSR initiatives that create positive change and enhance community well-being.”
Additionally, NTPC, New Delhi, was also honored with the “CSR Women & Child Health Project” award for its initiative, “Running of Maternal and Child Healthcare Units at NTPC Stations.” This award further reaffirms NTPC’s pivotal role in promoting public health and social welfare across India.
