Bongaigaon, July 4, 2024 (TBB Bureau): NTPC Bongaigaon achieved a significant milestone on Thursday with the grand inauguration of the Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM), a pioneering initiative dedicated to nurturing the potential of young girls in the region.
The ceremony was graced by Ukil Muchahary, Executive Member of BTR, Water Resources, Food and Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Co-operation, Welfare of SCs, who officially launched the program amidst a distinguished gathering including Akhilesh Singh, Head of Project at NTPC Bongaigaon, and Sangeeta Singh, President of Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club.
In his keynote address, Ukil Muchahary underscored the critical importance of empowering young girls by equipping them with essential tools and opportunities for holistic development. During his visit, Ukil Muchahary toured the newly established community hall where GEM participants will reside for the month-long program. He commended NTPC Bongaigaon for its dedication in providing a conducive environment for the comprehensive development of the girls.
The event commenced with a warm welcome from Akhilesh Singh, who provided an insightful overview of GEM’s objectives and its pivotal role in driving positive social change. “GEM is designed to unlock opportunities for young girls to explore their potential and pursue their aspirations.
