NTPC Bongaigaon organizes Special Vendor Development Program for SC-ST and women entrepreneurs

NTPC Bongaigaon hosted a Special Vendor Development Program aimed at empowering SC-ST and women entrepreneurs, under the National SC-ST Hub (NSSH) in collaboration with the Ministry of MSME. The initiative focused on creating awareness about NTPC’s vendor registration, e-tendering process, and procurement procedures, with a clear vision to promote inclusive development and entrepreneurship.

The event was graced by Debabrata Kar, General Manager (O&M) at NTPC Bongaigaon, who reaffirmed the company’s commitment to fostering local entrepreneurship. In his address, Kar emphasized NTPC’s dedication to enabling business opportunities across various sections of society. “We are committed towards inclusive development by promoting local entrepreneurship and creating pathways for business growth,” he stated. He further encouraged the participating entrepreneurs to actively engage with NTPC’s procurement platforms, ensuring sustainable and long-term growth for their businesses.

Organized by the Contracts and Materials Department of NTPC Bongaigaon, the event was spearheaded by Om Narayan Singh, AGM (C&M). The program saw enthusiastic participation from entrepreneurs, MSME-DI Guwahati officials, and representatives from the National SC-ST Hub.

The event featured prominent speakers such as N.K.D. Piku, Assistant Director, MSME-DFO, Guwahati, Peter Thawngneihchina, Senior Branch Manager, NSSHO Guwahati, and Arunav Sarmah, E-Tendering Professional, NSSHO Guwahati. These experts shared valuable insights on government schemes, procurement policies, and the technical requirements for engaging with CPSEs. Their guidance provided clarity on various aspects of procurement processes, helping participants understand how to navigate the complex landscape of vendor registration and e-tendering.

A highlight of the program was the active participation from over 40 vendors, who raised a wide range of questions on topics such as vendor registration, e-tendering, procurement policies, and technical documentation. The NTPC team, along with NSSH officials, addressed these queries comprehensively, ensuring that the session was not only informative but also solution-driven.

The program concluded with a dynamic interactive session, encouraging participants to explore potential business opportunities with NTPC and other CPSEs, fostering collaboration and long-term partnerships. The event underscored NTPC’s role in supporting entrepreneurship and its commitment to inclusive growth for marginalized communities and women entrepreneurs.
