Bongaigaon, September 26, 2024 (TBB Bureau): NTPC Bongaigaon was honoured with News 18’s prestigious Green Ribbon Champions Award 2024 as the “Sustainability Champion of North East” during a ceremony held in New Delhi on Wednesday.
This accolade recognizes the plant’s exemplary efforts in sustainability, exceptional plant performance, environmental stewardship, and impactful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in the Bodoland Territorial Region and other Northeastern states.
Akhilesh Singh, the Business Unit Head, and Onkar Nath, the Head of HR at the power station, accepted the award from Gul Panag, a renowned actor and sustainability activist. The event was also graced by the presence of Rakesh Singh, Minister of Public Works Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh.
This achievement highlights NTPC Bongaigaon’s unwavering commitment to environmentally responsible practices and its ongoing dedication to community development, reinforcing its role as a leader in sustainable energy solutions in the region.
