NTPC Bongaigaon has once again demonstrated its technical prowess and problem-solving capabilities by securing the prestigious 2nd Runner-Up Award at the Regional Quality Circle Convention (RQCC) 2025, held by NTPC Darlipali on Friday. The convention brought together top-performing teams from NTPC’s operational units to present innovative solutions aimed at enhancing efficiency and operational excellence.
The “LQC – Syncrony” team from NTPC Bongaigaon, representing the C&I Maintenance and Operation Group-B departments, captivated the judges with their presentation on “Frequent Non-Availability of Mills Due to Thrust Bearing Temperature Failure.” Their innovative approach to resolving this critical issue not only improved plant reliability but also garnered widespread recognition for its practical impact.
The team, led by Senior Assistant Engineer SS Vastrakar (C&I Maintenance), with Engineer Md Mukaram Qureshi (Operation) serving as Deputy Leader, included members Gaurab Baruah, Junior Engineer (C&I Maintenance), and Gunjan Rabha, Diploma Trainee (C&I). Their collaborative efforts and dedication were evident from the outset, beginning with a strong performance at the Station Level QC Convention held at NTPC Bongaigaon on August 31, 2024, where they secured the First Runner-Up position.
The RQCC served as a valuable platform for knowledge-sharing and highlighted the innovative spirit that NTPC fosters among its workforce. NTPC Bongaigaon’s achievement underscores the company’s commitment to operational excellence and its focus on continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation.
