In a major step towards improving healthcare access in Mon, Nagaland, NTPC Limited handed over two advanced life support ambulance vans and two mortuary vans to the District Administration of Mon. The vehicles were formally presented by Shri Arnab Maitra in the presence of Kasturi Maitra, President of Bardwi Shikla Ladies Club, NTPC Bongaigaon, and Onkar Nath, AGM (HR), NTPC Bongaigaon. The event was attended by Ajit Kumar Verma, Deputy Commissioner, Mon, who represented the District Administration.
As part of NTPC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, this contribution aims to address critical healthcare needs in the remote district. The state-of-the-art ambulances are equipped with ventilators, defibrillators, and monitoring systems, ensuring timely medical intervention during emergencies. These vehicles are designed to provide life-saving support, bridging the gap in emergency healthcare services for the region.
In addition to emergency medical transport, NTPC has also provided mortuary vans with refrigeration facilities, ensuring dignified transportation of the deceased. This initiative addresses a significant logistical and cultural need, allowing families to observe traditional customs with dignity.
Speaking on the occasion, Arnab Maitra reiterated NTPC’s commitment to community welfare, stating, “This contribution is part of NTPC’s broader vision to enhance healthcare infrastructure in remote areas and provide timely and dignified services to the residents of Mon.”
Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Verma lauded NTPC’s efforts, acknowledging the vital role such contributions play in improving healthcare accessibility in remote regions. “We appreciate NTPC’s timely support in bridging the healthcare access gap for our communities,” he said, expressing gratitude on behalf of the district administration.
The initiative, valued at ₹98.26 lakhs, is expected to benefit over 3.47 lakh residents across Mon district, significantly strengthening the region’s emergency medical response.
