Ranchi, September 18, 2024 (TBB Bureau): In a vibrant celebration of India’s official language, the Chief Executive Officer and Regional Executive Director (Coal Mining) of NTPC, Animesh Jain, inaugurated the Hindi Fortnight at the NTPC Coal Mining Headquarters in Ranchi on Monday. The event, marking the 75th anniversary of Hindi Diwas, holds special significance this year, as it underscores the increasing use of Hindi in day-to-day office operations.
During the inauguration, Jain emphasized the importance of promoting Hindi in official work, noting that Article 343 of the Indian Constitution designates Hindi, in the Devnagari script, as the official language of India. NTPC Coal Mining Headquarters will observe the Hindi Fortnight from 14th to 28th September 2024.
“Today, we are witnessing a digital revolution where Hindi is being used extensively in computing, something that was previously limited to English,” Jain said. He further highlighted that in this Information Technology-driven era, NTPC has taken significant steps to integrate Hindi into various digital platforms, making it easier for employees to carry out their tasks in the language. This includes the use of Hindi across mobile applications, emails, WhatsApp, and social media, alongside NTPC’s Paperless initiative ‘Pradeep’ and the Samvaad mobile app.
Jain encouraged the employees to take pride in using Hindi consistently in their professional work, urging them to embrace it not just as a duty but as a matter of pride. The participation of the Heads of Departments and other executives reflected the enthusiasm surrounding the event, with many contributing to discussions on enhancing Hindi usage within their respective domains.
To promote the language further, a series of competitions will be held during the Hindi Fortnight, beginning with a well-received Hindi Handwriting competition. A comprehensive schedule for the upcoming events over the next 15 days has been meticulously planned to ensure maximum involvement and success of the celebration.
