On the eve of World Heart Day, a cardiology screening camp was organized for employees at NTPC Coal Mining Headquarters, Ranchi today. The camp was organized by NTPC CMHQ in association with medical team of Pakri Barwadih Coal mining project and Samford Hospital, Ranchi.
The program was graced by Amit Kumar Dubey, Head of Safety as the Chief Guest in presence of Head of the departments, Dr. Kabibar Padhan, CMO, Pakri Barwadih Coal Mining Project and employees.
On the occasion Dr. Asish Ranjan, DM (Cardiologist) spoke on various aspects of cardiology and symptoms of heart ailment. He deliberated that this year’s World Heart Day theme is “Connect heart through heart”. “World Health Day was started by the World Health organization (WHO) in 2012 to create awareness on cardiovascular diseases among people and to spread awareness that heart disease is preventable with regular exercise, correct diet, quitting of smoking and not to ignore the symptoms related to heart attack,” he said.
Chief Guest of the occasion Amit Kumar Dubey extended his gratitude to Medical team, Pakri Barwadih Coal mining project, CMHQ-HR Department and Samford Hospital for organizing the camp. He highlighted the importance of the camp which he said an opportunity for the employees to screen the cardiac conditions and seek advice for precaution and prevention of cardiac problems.
Dr. Kabibar Padhan, CMO, Pakri Barwadih Coal Mining Project, briefed on the post-Covid effects on the cardiac health condition and suggested for prevention of the same with better medication and timely treatment.
During the camp employees undertook on spot ECG, Random blood sugar, HB1AC tests followed by medical advice and treatment by the cardio specialist. Employees diagnosed with abnormality in their health conditions including ECG, were advised for further medical diagnosis and treatment.
