NTPC Coal Mining Headquarters organised a quiz workshop for children as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and Children’s Day 2021 on Saturday. The quiz workshop was conducted under the aegis of Swayamsiddha Ladies Club, CMHQ through MS Team online.
Partha Mazumder, Regional Executive Director (Coal Mining), inaugurated the workshop. Addressing the participants, Mazumder stated that quizzes encourage students’ knowledge bank in every sphere and stimulate children to learn more through curiosity and inquisitiveness.
Mahua Mazumder, President, Swayamsiddha Ladies Club, opined that such programs would lead to holistic development of children and would make them confident in facing future challenges.
A total of 55 children from all Coal Mining Projects participated in the online workshop. KM Prashant, Head of HR, NTECL Vallur, who was the faculty for the workshop, emphasized on the qualities of reading, writing, listening, observing and inquisitiveness to become a good quizzer. In the end, he conducted an exciting quiz where all children enthusiastically participated.
Padma Reddy, President, Jagriti Mahila Sangh, Pakri Barwadih; Anju Sinha, President, Sanskriti Mahila Samiti, Keredari; Minakshi Srivastava, President, Prerana ladies Club, Dulanga; and Smita Mohanty, President, Tilottama Ladies Club, Talaipalli Coal Mining project were present on the occasion and encouraged the children.
Sujit Varkey, Ex-AGM (HR), NTPC who was invited to the workshop during the valedictory session, delivered a pep talk to the children on improving their general knowledge.
The program was coordinated and anchored by Tanmoy Dutta, DGM(HR), CMHQ.
Earlier in the program, Wilson Abraham, AGM(HR), CMHQ welcomed Mazumder and Mahua Mazumder and thanked them for sparing their valuable time and always being source of inspiration.
