NTPC Coal Mining Headquarters, Ranchi, celebrated the 49th NTPC Raising Day with great enthusiasm and gaiety on Tuesday. Unfurling the NTPC Flag, General Manager (Technical Services) TK Konar who graced the event as the chief guest, congratulated the employees for completing 48 years of NTPC journey in power generation.
Speaking on the occasion, General Manager (Technical Services) TK Konar said, “We feel proud to be a part of India’s largest energy conglomerate which has played a critical role in catering to the energy needs of a growth-oriented country like India.”
He said, the installed capacity of NTPC has risen to 73874 MW. NTPC Group recorded the highest ever annual generation of 399 Billion Units in FY23 as compared to 361 Billion Units in FY22, registering growth of 11 per cent. NTPC Coal stations achieved a Plant Load Factor (PLF) of 75.90 per cent as against the National Average of 64.21 per cent during FY23.
Speaking on NTPC Coal Mining, Konar said that a substantial growth of 86 per cent in coal production from its captive mines till October 31, 2023 in FY 2023-24 was registered, as compared to the year-ago. The company achieved an impressive coal production of 19.117 million metric tonnes (MMT) till October 31, 2023 in FY24, as compared to 10.282 MMT in the same period of the previous year. In addition, NTPC has also achieved a coal despatch of 20.225 MMT till October 2023 in FY24, marking a significant 94 per cent increase over the previous year for the same period. This outstanding performance reflects NTPC’s relentless commitment to enhancing coal production from its captive mines and ensuring efficient supply to meet the nation’s energy needs.
