RANCHI, MAY 16, 2024 (TBB BUREAU): NTPC Coal Mining Headquarters in Ranchi has kicked off Swachhta Pakhwada-2024, a fortnight dedicated to promoting cleanliness and sanitation, running from May 16 to May 31, 2024. This year’s campaign emphasizes community involvement in spreading awareness about cleanliness.
The initiative began with a Swachhta Pledge led by Rajnish Rastogi, Chief General Manager (HR), in the presence of department heads, senior officials, and employees. The pledge underscored the importance of dedicating 100 hours annually and at least 2 hours weekly to cleanliness activities, encouraging everyone to contribute to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan mission.

Following the pledge, employees and associates participated in a themed selfie zone with the slogan “I am Swachhta Ambassador,” reaffirming their personal commitment to raising awareness and fostering a culture of cleanliness.
A variety of programs are planned for the fortnight, aimed at engaging different community segments:

Employees will organize and participate in cleanliness drives at public places, setting a practical example of maintaining hygiene in communal areas. Thematic painting competitions for school children are planned, encouraging the younger generation to take an active role in maintaining a clean environment through their creativity.
Additionally, workshops on waste management will provide valuable information on effective waste disposal and recycling practices, promoting sustainable living.
To further engage the community, street plays (Nukad Nataks) will be performed in various locations, effectively communicating the importance of cleanliness and hygiene in an engaging and impactful manner.
These activities aim to raise awareness and inspire ongoing commitment to cleanliness, contributing significantly to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan and fostering a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable India.
