The Ranchi regional round of the NTPC Electron Quiz 2025, organized by NTPC Mining Limited, witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 80 teams representing premier engineering and management institutes across Jharkhand.
After a fiercely contested battle of intellect covering technology, energy, and current affairs, Shamyak and Anurag from NIT Jamshedpur clinched the top spot. Aniket and Chirag from XLRI Jamshedpur secured the runner-up position, while Rohan and Harsh from IIT ISM Dhanbad finished third.
The winners were awarded a cash prize of ₹30,000, while the second and third-place teams received ₹20,000 and ₹10,000, respectively. Teams finishing in the fourth to sixth positions were given consolation prizes of ₹4,000 each.
Speaking at the event, Animesh Jain, CEO of NTPC Mining Limited and RED (Coal Mining), emphasized the quiz’s significance in fostering intellectual growth. “Winning and losing are part of the game, but the real victory lies in the pursuit of knowledge. Through the Electron Quiz, we aim to drive the nation’s progress by igniting young minds,” he remarked, encouraging participants to strive for excellence.
With this victory, NIT Jamshedpur and XLRI Jamshedpur have secured their places in the National Semi-Finals in Noida, scheduled for February 27-28.
Participants lauded NTPC Mining Limited for its seamless organization and praised KM Prashant, GM (Corporate Communication), NTPC, for his engaging quizmaster skills, which made the competition both stimulating and challenging. The event reaffirmed NTPC’s commitment to nurturing young talent and fostering a culture of innovation and knowledge-sharing.
