NTPC Northern Region celebrates 54th National Safety Day with safety pledge at NRHQ

In a significant show of commitment to workplace safety, NTPC Northern Region Headquarters in Lucknow on Tuesday marked the 54th National Safety Day with a safety pledge administered by N S Rao, Regional Executive Director (North Region). The event focused on the theme “Safety and Wellbeing – Crucial for Viksit Bharat,” emphasizing the critical role of safety in achieving a developed India.

Rao took the opportunity to highlight the importance of Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) standards within industrial setups. He underscored the necessity of safeguarding employee welfare, ensuring the safety of contractual labour, and fostering environmental conservation. Particularly addressing road safety and responsible mobile phone usage, Rao called for vigilance, especially among plant operation staff, to prevent accidents and enhance safety awareness.

Amreek Singh Bhogal, General Manager (OS), spoke passionately about the importance of adhering to safety protocols to avoid fatalities and minimize economic setbacks caused by accidents. “Safety should be our top priority in every aspect of work and life,” he emphasized.

Samiran Sinha Ray, General Manager (HR), reinforced this message, stressing the universal importance of safety in both professional and personal environments.

Anuj Nigam, Senior Manager (OS), also shared insights on the significance of National Safety Day, urging all attendees to continuously prioritize safety in their daily routines.

The event, which was attended by senior officials and employees, highlighted NTPC’s unwavering commitment to fostering a culture of safety across its operations.

As part of National Safety Week, NTPC stations across the North Region will be conducting a series of programs aimed at promoting workplace safety and raising awareness among stakeholders.
