NTPC Ltd, India’s leading power generating company, has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing the 400 Billion Units (BU) of electricity generation mark on 13th March 2024. This achievement comes on the heels of a remarkable performance in the previous fiscal year, where the company recorded a generation of 399.3 BU during FY 2022-23.
As of 13th March 2024, NTPC’s coal stations boasted a commendable plant loading factor (PLF) of 77.06 per cent, underscoring the company’s operational efficiency and robust infrastructure.
Highlighting its exceptional performance, NTPC achieved its highest-ever single-day generation of 1428 MU on 1st September 2023. This feat stands as a testament to the prowess of NTPC engineers and the effectiveness of its operation and maintenance practices.
The accomplishment further reinforces NTPC’s unwavering commitment to delivering reliable and affordable power to the nation. With an installed capacity of 75.4 GW, including 18 GW under construction, of which 5 GW is in renewables, NTPC aims to achieve a renewable energy capacity of 60 GW by 2032.
In addition to its core power generation operations, NTPC has diversified into various new business areas such as e-mobility, waste-to-energy, and green hydrogen solutions. The company has also actively participated in the bidding for power distribution in Union Territories, signaling its commitment to expanding its presence across the energy value chain.
