The NTPC Swayamsiddha Ladies Club, based at the Coal Mining Headquarters in Ranchi, recently extended its support to underprivileged children by distributing essential food items at the “Adim Jati Sewa Mandal” in Ranchi.
This initiative, part of the club’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, aimed to emphasize the significance of nutritious food in the lives of children from marginalized backgrounds and those with special needs.
Spearheaded by Swayamsiddha Ladies Club President Rekha Jain, the event underscored the critical role of proper nutrition in ensuring the survival, growth, and development of children.
During the distribution event, Jain highlighted the detrimental effects of malnutrition, which often leads to deficiencies in vital vitamins and micronutrients crucial for a child’s health. She emphasized that well-nourished children are not only healthier but also more capable of actively engaging in learning, playing, and contributing positively to their communities.
Jain also took the opportunity to engage with the coordinator of the orphanage, inquiring about the existing facilities and services provided to the children in need, thereby demonstrating the Club’s commitment to supporting holistic well-being.
The program witnessed the presence of Club members, including Vice Presidents Shikha Rastogi and Purnima Shrikhande, General Secretary Mansa Verma, Joint Secretary Deepa Kumari, Treasurer Snigdha Rani Manjhi, and Cultural Secretary T Parameswari, who collectively contributed to the success of the initiative through their dedication and support.
